Nice mention on GitHub Blog

Filed under: BlogBridge — Pito Salas on 9:56 am

BlogBridge is mentioned nicely on the Github blog today:

“BlogBridge looks pretty interesting: an open source, cross platform RSS reader. Their visual tour shows off many of the innovative features.

And guess what? They’re hosted on GitHub: http://github.com/pitosalas/blogbridge” (from GitHub Blog)

Twittering from more than one account

Filed under: BlogBridge — Pito Salas on 7:19 pm

As you might have heard, we are now listening on Twitter channel @blogbridge to give you assistance and support. As you also may know, I have my own Twitter account, @pitosalas.

Sometimes I tweet on my own behalf (’the weather in Curacao is hot’) and sometimes I tweet on BlogBridge’s behalf (’can I help solve your problem?’) This poses a bit of a logistical challenge for me.

Question: In our design of the new Twitter features in BlogBridge, we are considering allowing you to declare more than one Twitter account, and when you tweet, indicate with one click which account(s) you want to use. How useful would this be to you?

Question: Absent (or until) BlogBridge, what is the best practice for someone who needs to do this, or is this something that no sane person needs to do?

Question: Do you even think that having a separate @BlogBridge twitter account is a good or bad idea?

Send me your answers through twitter, a comment, an email, a skype, or a personal call :)

More about twitter support

Filed under: BlogBridge — Pito Salas on 9:15 am

As you may know, we are implementing a bunch of cool twitter support for BlogBridge. This morning I registered @blogbridge on Twitter as well. We will be monitoring it for conversation and questions about BlogBridge. I will still continue to twitter on my own @pitosalas but based on advice from @cleverclogs we now have a dedicated twitter presence. See you on Twitter :)

One question: what’s the best/right way to both interact on my personal Twitter account (e.g. @pitosalas) as well as monitor the BlogBridge (@blogbridge) account?

BlogBridge moves to GitHub

Filed under: Announcements, BlogBridge, Developers — Aleksey Gureiev on 3:34 am

githubTo inspire contribution and to ease the development we decided to move the source code of the project from the SourceForge.net to GitHub.com. Our new home is a convenient and transparent public space with code repository, wiki and other useful features. Get the source code, play with it, change it as you like, fork new projects and contribute back to the main rep. We are completely open and welcoming.

Hopefully it will work well for everyone!
